Negombo Lagoon Safari

Negombo Lagoon is a large estuarine lagoon in Negombo, south-west Sri Lanka.

The lagoon is fed by a number of small rivers and a canal. It is linked to the sea by a narrow channel to the north, near Negombo city. It is surrounded by a densely populated region containing rice paddies, coconut plantations and grassland. The land is used for fishing and agriculture. The lagoon has extensive mangrove swamps and attracts a wide variety of water birds including cormorants, herons, egrets, gulls, terns and other shorebirds.

Tour Plan for lagoon safari,

09.00am - Pick up from the hotel or Air port.

09.30am - Visit negombo fish market and guest can buy one of the favorite to make for lunch as a additional dish.
(if guest request)

10.30am - start boat tour in negombo lagoon.
(Here you can engage with traditional and modern ways of fishing in lagoon. And this will cover main part of the negombo lagoon)

12.30pm - Lunch.
(we will arrange lunch in one of the small island in negombo lagoon.And here you can enjoy and engage with live cooking)

03.00pm - Catamaran ride with experienced rider.
(Here you can ride a catamaran by your own, and this will cover the other part of the lagoon)

05.00pm - we end the safari and drop you to the hotel.
